The Makeup Reviewers have Spoken…Lip Venom Sucks!

DuWop’s Lip Venom has been a much talked about lip gloss over the past few years. It’s basically a line of lip products that’s supposed to “plump” your lips temporarily.  Every girl has seen it, but everyone else wonders just one thing, “Does it actually work?!”

I came across a blog post on Product Fiend where they featured a question someone had that exact question about Lip Venom:

Dear Product Fiend,

So for quite some time there has been a lot of buzz about “Lip Venom.” I’ve done some research on my own but the most I can get from most sites is basically the same: “I like it.” Or “It’s tingly.” It would be really great if you guys could do a post about it or just tell me a bit more about the product.

Thanks,
Maddie

Product Fiend replied by telling the questioner “just like “Kleenex” has come to refer to any brand of tissue, “Lip Venom” has practically turned into the generic term for any kind of lip plumping topical agent..” This is very true, but why has this product gotten so much buzz if people buying it are hating it?

On Buzzillions, you can see that 163 people have rated it a poor 3.1 stars out of 5! If the word got out that it seems like a really cool thing to have your lips plumped temporarily, but people are saying:

“overrated as a product”

“It made my lips very glossy, but not that much bigger”

“pricey for its size”

“Truth, I wore it on my wedding day and my lips felt chapped and itchy. When I kissed my man, he was not impressed…my lips did not look “stung” either. Ladies, spend your money elsewhere.”

I think more people would think twice before spending $16 on an OK lip gloss at best.  Even people on twitter are complaining
