Every year winter sports magazines publish what they think is the best gear for that winter. But are they always right?
Outside Online has their list of Top Gear for Women – Buyers Guide Winter 2010. Read what Buzzillions users have to say about the same products….
“You’ll feel like you’re cheating on huge powder days. The only women-specific rockered (upturned tip and tail) ski on the market, the Voodoo Pro also has tapered tips and tails, so they don’t get hung up on pillows of poof. But what sets these planks apart from other rockered skis lies underfoot: The belly features traditional camber and sidecut—so you can still turn ‘em on hardpack.”
“This ski will change how you think of yourself as a skier, you’ll be three times better, just by clicking in. Seriously ladies, for powder, this is FINALLY the real thing!...” Lynsey Dyer of Jackson Hole
“All-around mid-fat dimensions make the Shazam our favorite go-to gun for resort-based adventures—it’s just plump enough to keep afloat in a foot of powder. On firmer snow, testers found that the wood core provided dampness and torsional rigidity for quick, edge-to-edge responsiveness.”
“The best skis I owne! There’s a good pop on them not to mention gnarly style. They’re great for any of New Englend’s ski conditions and ride great out west too. I usually get new skis every year but i’m stickin with these for another seasonnn!…” Roxyyy of Burlington, VT
“With the same cut and rockered tip as the Coomback, the Gotback was our favorite all-mountain tele-ski. But if you ski mostly groomers, you might want something with more edge grip: Although testers loved the way the early-rise tip plowed effortlessly over crud, some wished it had more bite on harder snow.”
“Skied them three times now in different conditions. They are amazingly smooth ride nice, catch the edge and go through everything with easy. Stable and you feel very confident to do anything on them…” Deanna Aadland of US
“The reverse-camber Compact was the most confidence-inspiring and maneuverable park-and-pipe board we tested this year. We’re also big fans of Ride’s proprietary urethane sidewalls. They absorb chop better than other brands’ and help eliminate washout (over-rotating), a common problem with rockered boards.”
“I won this snowboard at a video premiere and finally got the chance to ride it yesterday… first impression? LOVE IT. Its crazy light thanks to the slimewalls sidewalls and membrain topsheet…” razzi of Dillon, US
“A new take on a classic all-mountain board. With a wider shape, more forgiving flex, and rocker both between the feet and just outside them, the revamped Feelgood impressed testers with its edge-to-edge response. The only (minor) drawback: It’s a bit chattery on groomers.”
“The Feelgood V-Rocker Kills it!!! This board tears it up all over the hill. Really nice edge hold for all mountain riding and jumps but still soft and enough for rails and boxes…” shannon-burton rep of US
“Testers loved the no-brainer binding on this aggressively cramponed shoe: It positions your boots in the snowshoe perfectly every time, and with one pull you’re in—no fiddling with toe and heel adjusters required.”
“During our recent snowstorm, my car was stranded. I,however, was not! I strapped these on and trekked out to the bluff and had a glorious workout! I am hooked!..” sjlatte of Spokane, WA

Cute, unexpected treasure

Reviewer Comments: For our 1 year wedding anniversary the traditional gift is paper and 12 ways to say I love you is a really great way to think about your relationship and say things that you may not think to say. i loved the topics- if someone were to write a biography about you, it would start like this… or 5 songs that will always remind me of you… my husband loved it and i embellished every page with several photos of us throughout the year. there is even a cute envelope on one of the pages for a special little trinket… you could put a gift in there or a special something to you both.. i put a photo of our babies sonogram photo… it really is a perfect little something when you dont want to overdue it with glam and glitz, but want to give a punch with sentiment and fun…

Keeps Things Legal…

Reviewer Comments: Daughter works at the Yale University Art Gallery and my mother in law tired to actually touch a Van Gogh painting! These should keep her out of jail and quell the need to actually touch art. Great for kids and adults that should know better
