A Tribute to The Dude

Dear Jeff Bridges,

Congratulations on your Academy Award. The Dude might abide, but you, Jeff (can we call you Jeff?), no longer have to. We’re happy that after being nominated five times, things finally worked out for you. We haven’t seen Crazy Heart yet, but we’re sure it’s great. We promise to put it in our Netflix queue as soon as it comes out on DVD and/or we get through all the Buffy episodes.

Personally, we think your work in The Big Lebowski was a groundbreaking five-star performance, but what do we know? We’re just a product reviews site.

In your honor of your big day, we’ve created a list of the six best “Dude” related products. Hope you like it.

The Six Best Dude-related Products

The Dude Big Lebowski Talking Keychain Product Reviews

This little gem spews quotes from the Big Lebowski from a handy keychain. To quote one reviewer who calls himself The Das, “YOU HAVE THE DUDE AT THE CLICK OF A BUTTON! WHAT MORE COULD YOU WANT.” Well put, Das.

Bowling Ball Product Reviews

The ultimate Lebowski accessory. Wondering what size to get? What kind of finger configuration? Which will get you a spare every time? Remember, this not about performance, this is about The Dude. Ask yourself which ball The Dude would like and get that one.

Old-Fashioned Glass Product Reviews

In order to properly toast The Dude, an old-fashioned glass filled with a White Russian is required.

Bathrobe Product Reviews

There’s no better way to channel your inner Dude than by wearing a bathrobe… everywhere. Any robe will do, but one that gives you the disheveled look is best. For maximum effect, choose one that is tan and oversized.

Slippers Product Reviews

See previous. The more disheveled-looking the better.

Stick-It DVD Product Reviews

Lest we forget Jeff’s pre-Oscar days, let’s take a moment to think back on his lesser-known work including Stick-It. Jeff plays a down-and-out gymnastics coach who takes on a challenging new pupil. Spoiler alert! They both find redemption in the end, and everyone leaves feeling good. One reviewer cautions, “Film is viewable by all ages, but ocassionaly there are scenes that would be best viewed with an adult in the room to offer feedback……” Maybe this person is referring to the scene where Jeff Bridges attempts a layout and breaks his leg. We’re really not sure.

Anyway, congrats again!

Love,

Buzzillions

I’ll always remember his “Flynn” character from TRON way back.

Ah yes, who could forget Flynn?
