The image quality is outstanding. After 5 months I am still finding new features.

Arbor Abacus Snowboard 2009
The Arbor Abacus Snowboard is a true form-follows-function powder stick designed knowing that 100% pow days are few and far between. A structural Lacewood top, tapered shape, set back stance, and kinked sidecut deliver performance in mixed conditions and on varied terrain. The fluidic, backseat fis…

The Abacus rekindled my stoke!

Pros: Carving Ability, Smooth Stability, Lightweight, Tough

Best Uses: Freeriding, Speed, Powder

Reviewer Comments: I rode the Abacus for the first time at Mt. Bachelor in the trees. They had a nice layer of fresh, but on my standard board I was breaking through to an ice layer below. With a 164 Abacus I was floating on the good stuff and with the tapered tail I was still able to make tight turns in the trees. It was also good for soul carves on the groomers. Then I rode it at Crystal Mt., which had a good 18 inches of heavy fresh on a pow base, and took it into some steep sections, pillows and drops and it was solid. I think it takes some getting used to on drops, like you have to lean forward a bit more than normal because the nose is there for you. It is sooooo fun in deep snow to be on top of your turns! Riding switch….probably not so much but it would be cool to fully reverse the stance and learn to ride the opposite way. And because of the powder specific geometry your new back leg would be getting some training assistance. Super fun board! Stable and light and it reminds me of how fun a simple turn can be!
