: Over the years, I’ve tried many brands and styles of shoes, and what I look for when I buy shoes is versatility. I like being able to wear the same shoes anywhere, and have it work well with any type of clothes I wear. I’m a size 13, so finding shoes in my size can be difficult at times, and when I do fine shoes that are my size, they’re normally HIDEOUS designs and styles.

I’m a documentary filmmaker, and at times, an event photographer. Both jobs require that I be on my feet for many hours at a time. When I photograph an all-day event, I may be on my feet for up to 16 hours at a time. So I need shoes that are both comfortable, and styled in such a way that I can shoot both formal and more casual events in them, and have the shoes still work well with whatever I need to wear for the job.

For the past 2 years, I’ve purchased 4 pairs of this same style of shoe, not because they’re poorly made (actually they are VERY well made) but because, I put them through more than normal wear. Way more…

I just came back from filming a documentary for 6 months in jungles of Africa…in these shoes. Filming elephants in these shoes, being chased by wild beasts in these shoes, wading through rivers and swamps in these shoes, climbing all manner of trees in these shoes, scaling mountain ranges in these shoes, walking MANY MILES in these shoes.

Oh my gosh these shoes are durable!

And at the end of my tiring shooting day, I will fall asleep in a mud hut…in these shoes, because they’re so comfortable, that I don’t mind the fact that they’re still on my feet.

—-You know you’ve found a good pair of shoes, when you can forget that they’re on your feet.—

I will say though that these shoes, as many other shoes, require breaking in, but once they’re broken in, they’re amazing to wear.

Another thing that I look for when I buy shoes is the sole- Does it have a notched heel or a seamless heel? This shoe’s seamless heel allows me to shoot, and walk at the same time, knowing that I don’t have to worry about accidentally tripping because the notch in my heel got caught on a cable laying on the studio floor or a branch in my path in a forest.

I would definitely recommend this shoe to anybody who does strenuous work, has to be standing or walking for a long time, or has a career or social life that has you changing your activity or outfit from formal to business to casual to even documentary filmmaking at any given time.
